Representatives of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom discussed ways to develop cooperation in civil aviation in Astana.
On 7–8 October, the capital is hosting the Central Asia MRO international event, focused on aircraft maintenance and repair, the introduction of new technologies and the expansion of international cooperation in the aviation sector.
As part of the event, a plenary session was held on cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom in civil aviation. The session was opened by Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev and UK Minister for Trade Affairs Anas Sarwar.
The sides discussed expanding air connectivity, developing aviation infrastructure, and aircraft maintenance and repair. They also considered the introduction of new technologies, attracting investment and implementing joint projects.
Particular attention was paid to the development of Kazakhstan’s MRO market and improving the skills of domestic aviation professionals.
The Kazakh side expressed its interest in further strengthening its partnership with the United Kingdom in the aviation sector. The participants also discussed opportunities to involve British airlines and aviation companies in joint projects in Kazakhstan.
