The reconstruction of the runway at Pavlodar Airport has been completed, allowing regular air services to resume in the city.
As part of the modernization project, the runway was widened from 45 to 60 metres. The upgrade will enable the airport to accommodate modern aircraft and improve flight safety.
Today, the first flight from the renovated airport departed for Astana. Vice Minister of Transport Maksat Kaliakparov and Pavlodar Region Akim Assain Baikhanov attended the launch ceremony of the Astana – Pavlodar – Astana route.
According to the Ministry of Transport, subsidized flights on this route will operate four times a week. The service will be operated by Vietjet Qazaqstan. A one-way ticket will cost 15,000 tenge.
Tickets for the route have been on sale since the first half of August.
The restoration of other air routes from Pavlodar is also planned in stages.
Starting September 1, FlyArystan will resume daily commercial flights on the Pavlodar – Almaty – Pavlodar route.
International air services are also expected to resume on the same date. S7 Airlines plans to operate flights between Pavlodar and Novosibirsk seven times a week.
