A major initiative aimed at unlocking the transport potential of the Mangystau region has entered a new stage with plans to establish a multimodal logistics and aviation hub at Aktau Airport.

The project was reviewed by the Government of Kazakhstan, and Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed the relevant authorities to ensure its high-quality and timely implementation.

The integrated complex will combine aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), air cargo development, the training of Kazakhstan’s aviation professionals, and the comprehensive enhancement of the region’s logistics infrastructure.

Once operational, the facility is expected to provide maintenance services for more than 200 aircraft annually and perform repainting for up to 60 aircraft using modern industry standards.

The project is also expected to create approximately 3,500 permanent jobs, strengthening the regional workforce and supporting the development of Kazakhstan’s aviation industry. As Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov noted, the initiative will significantly enhance the country’s competitiveness in aircraft maintenance and air transit services while providing strong momentum for the sustainable growth of Kazakhstan’s civil aviation sector.
